Webpages in Safari on iPad Jumping around

Hey, I've been putting up with this issue for some time, but just thought to ask around... Maybe someone's solved this problem somehow.

When navigating many webpages on the iPad (with or without my bluetooth keyboard), I often have to deal with the point of focus jumping back up to the top of the webpage or browser. If there is the reader option available for that page, using this stops the voice over focus jumping issue but of course, not all pages have this option.

Anyways, if someone has an idea, let me know. All my googling on the matter so far just says that it's spammy/disreputable websites that will cause this but seeings how I experience this problem with large, usually reliable sites such as eBay and Facebook, I don't think that it's the general cause.

Thanks

Hi!
I think this is a Voice Over bug .
I noticed it when IOS 6.0 came out.
Unfortunately I don't know of any fixes other than to try to slow down when navigating pages.
Hopefully when IOS 7 is released the jumping around will stop.

Hi, as a constent almost 95% ipad user compare to 5% on the computer, can you tell me in more details as to the issue you have? such as, how do you browse the website, interms of, how do you swipe from one to another, how do you navigate etc?
I haven't have the issue with the website jumping around...

I am also a 95% iPad vs 5% computer user nowadays. I have this issue when swiping line to line on the screen as well as when navigating via arrow keys on the bluetooth keyboard. This problem definitely was not always an issue, when I first started using the ipad 2 years ago, it was not doing this. I believe it was indeed the iOS 6.0 update where it became a huge nucense.

For example, on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR9.TRC1.A0.XiPad.TRS0&_nkw=iPad&_sacat=0&_from=R40

For http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR9.TRC1.A0.XiPad.TRS0&_nkw=iPad&_sacat=0&_from=R40http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR9.TRC1.A0.XiPad.TRS0&_nkw=iPad&_sacat=0&_from=R40http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR9.TRC1.A0.XiPad.TRS0&_nkw=iPad&_sacat=0&_from=R40

I can navigate down to the search results by jumping through headings, but as soon as I start navigating through the results using left/right swiping or arrow keys, it throws me back up to the top of the webpage.

Another place this happens, off the top of my head, is when looking through friends lists on the full facebook site.

If it makes any difference as well, this is an iPad II.

Sorry, that link was broken, but I had just done a item search at www.ebay.com. The search results reliably give me the same glitch every time.

I've had this same issue as well with some Web sites as well, and I also have an iPad2. Slowing down navigating helps a little bit.

i'm not sure about ipad2. as i'm currently using ipad mini and a ipad4. what i would suggest for website that have apps, perhaps using the apps rather than using the webpage itself. If you really need to use the wbpage, try the mobile version of the website instead of the full version. That will help to minimise some of the issue.
When you use your BT Keyboard, do you usually have the quick nav on or quick off? might be worth trying to have quicknav on when you browsing, that often help.
In terms of how it jump from a heading to the begining, sometime it happen when the page is not fully loaded. ones the page fully loaded, it should not have that problem as often. i have the problem with one of my email webmail page. however, that page itself is a very complecated page with lots of frames.
You might want to consider wait for a few seconds for it to load the page fully, although its harder when the page have some sort of flash player or such. However, i haven't have any problem with pages with flash players. i found that IOS usually find a way to skip those flash player, and become rather accessible.
When come to webpage with multiple eddit imput, say ebay where you can choose your search options, often is good to use the container as well as heading when you type in your search. For example, if you search for 32gb USB Drive. Ones you type that, you can then use your container to go to the next button, and put in your other search option.
I found that trick a few days ago when i try to use one of the airline website.
I hope this help a little.

Cheers

Hmm. interesting. I've noticed similar issues with iOS 6 on my iPhone and iPod, but these are related to the way in which VoiceOver handles headings. It's not just limited to Safari though, but you can duplicate it in the Contacts app, and a few others. It annoyed me so much that I put my iPhone 4 back on iOS 5.1.1. You may wish to try Chrome for iOS, I know it has solved my issues on the iPhone, though no garantees on the iPad, since these seem like similar yet different bugs.
